What Makes the Springfield 36 Different?

The Springfield 36 belongs to a specific category in the Kozy Heat lineup: direct-vent fireplaces designed to retrofit into existing fireplace openings. This is meaningfully different from new-construction fireplaces like Kozy Heat’s Nordik series. Where new-construction units assume you’re building a custom wall around the firebox, the Springfield 36 assumes you have an existing fireplace cavity (likely from a wood-burning fireplace or an older gas unit) and want to insert a modern, efficient direct-vent unit into it.
