FROG® Algae Gone™ is a fast-acting, copper-based algaecide that cures existing green and yellow algae outbreaks in pool water. Drop the pods in your skimmer, run the pump for 24 hours, and the copper-based formula gets to work breaking down algae colonies and returning your pool to crystal clear. One package treats pools up to 30,000 gallons (one pod per 10,000 gallons).
This is the “fix it now” product in the FROG Pool Pods algae line. If you’ve just opened your pool to find green water staring back, or you’ve returned from vacation to walls coated in algae, Algae Gone is what gets you back to a usable pool in days rather than weeks of shocking, brushing, and waiting. The copper-based chemistry directly attacks the algae that’s already established — different work from preventing new algae from forming.
What makes Algae Gone different from a traditional liquid algaecide is the application format. Instead of pouring measured doses around the pool perimeter (and worrying about staining the deck), you drop a pre-filled fabric pod into your skimmer. The dry concentrated formula dissolves over 24 hours, distributing copper through the pool’s circulation system at exactly the right rate. No measuring, no spills, no perimeter pouring.
Why Speed Matters With Algae: Algae grows exponentially once it’s established. A small patch on a step today becomes a wall-coating bloom by next weekend, and a green pool by the weekend after that.
