The formula is built on sodium thiosulfate, a well-known agent for knocking down bromine and chlorine. It dissolves through circulating water and works as part of your regular maintenance routine when readings push past the level you want. As a rough guide, 1 oz reduces bromine by about 1 ppm per 10,000 gallons, so you can size your dose off a quick test instead of guessing.
